The idea of The Floating Pebbles was hatched one fine night while we were stargazing on our honeymoon in Bali some 4 years back. But then, life happened. For 3 years, we were forced to live in 2 different places owing to our jobs. We barely saw each other, except while we were travelling to new destinations. Travelling, a passion we both share, became a breath of fresh air. It provided us with precious opportunities to spend time with each other while creating memories of a lifetime. Thankfully, our jobs have now landed both of us in Kolkata, a city close to our hearts. And so, here we are with our much-awaited blog.
The Floating Pebbles is about chasing happiness through travelling far and wide, experiencing local culture and dressing up in vibrant colours at sun-dazed locales. Through this blog, we want to share our stories with the world and aim at curating memories that we would like to look at when we turn 80!
Sudeshna is a civil service officer, whose simple pleasure in life is reading a book by the window on a rainy day with a cup of tea in her hand. Her real happiness lies in exploring ancient ruins, secluded beaches, pretty cafes hidden inside alleys and cuddling cats. Other than travelling, she loves to scribble about anything and everything. She delights at dreaming while gazing at starry sky. She is also fond of seas, where she can spend hours counting the waves.
She writes in The Floating Pebbles about their lives, their loves, their experiences. She also blogs about the outfits she wears while travelling. A fan of 50’s vintage style, she loves bows and tulles, billowing skirts and wide-brimmed hats.
Sudip is a doctor, who is passionate about capturing visuals and emotions through his camera. He feels most alive when he is travelling with Sudeshna for company. He enjoys the serenity of the mountains and loves to stroll through the solitary hilly roads in search of that hidden waterfall. He is someone who will wake up at ungodly hours in the night to capture breathtaking sunrises. He is also an avid foodie.
All the photos in this blog are shot by him. His photography gears include Nikon Z7II, lenses from Nikon 24-70 f4S, Nikon Z 14-30 f4S and Samsung Galaxy S20 FE mobile. He loves to take photos of mesmerizing landscapes and elusive wildlife.
